ANA, All Nippon Airways: VGML meal from Seattle to Tokyo(Narita)
On September 17th, 2012, we sat in Economy at ANA, All Nippon Airways, which was Japan’s largest airline. We flew with ANA from Seattle (SEA) to Tokyo Narita (NRT), then to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), landing in Terminal 3 (the nicer one).
Our special meal was VGML with ANA, that denotes a strict vegetarian meal (vegan) containing no meat, fish, eggs, honey, or dairy products. Unfortunately ANA, All Nippon Airways used some dairy products in our meals, especially coming from Seattle. I was hoping that ANA airline food would be good after my recent encounters with Tokyo Narita’s awesome airline lounge that serves vegan-friendly sushi, in the end, I was completely wrong. I was wondering if it would be a massive difference if I chose first/business class with ANA, would my meal still contain dairy as the Economy meal? That would be terrible if I was served dairy in my strict vegetarian meal in a first/business class.
I would like to share our VGML meals from ANA, All Nippon Airways:

I do like watching animal comedy films, that dog was so cute. This is a Japanese comedy-drama film with English subtitles.
VGML Meal from Seattle to Tokyo Narita
This was supposed to be a strict vegetarian (VEGAN) airline meal. There are processed cheddar cheese slices on a salad on the right. I wanted the artichokes from the meal, but it touched the cheese. The salad dressing and butter both contained dairy (i.e., whey or milk solids). All I had was the dried raisins and Fiji water bottle. On the left, another unappetizing hot meal: a very soggy rice dish with overcooked vegetables. We were very disappointed with our VGML meal with ANA.

VGML Meal from Tokyo Narita to Manila
Here we go. A VGML meal from Tokyo Narita: grilled (yet soggy) tofu with shiitake mushrooms and artichokes in lemon sauce. It was quite sour to eat plus the odour was very strong from the warm lemons, but I liked the shiitake mushrooms. I could not eat the whole meal. The butter contained dairy and I did not dare eat the bread. Another disappointing VGML meal with ANA, All Nippon Airways.
