My friends and I went to Bukchon Hanok Village (북촌한옥마을), Seoul, South Korea. Bukchon Hanok Village is an area in Seoul that has traditional Korean housing, located between the two palaces of the Joseon Dynasty, Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung. The view of the city in this area is beautiful!
We went to a restaurant called, “본죽 명동점” that serves rice porridge also known as “juk” (죽). Mine was a new vegetable juk on their menu, which mostly had seaweed in it but full of flavours! My friend Juhwa told me usually Korean eat this when they get sick because it is easy to eat and digest.

Kimchi water, plum tea, seaweed juk, some sort of pepper paste, apparently the second side dish was meat so I didn’t eat that (my friend’s), and lastly kimchi.
This meal was easy for me to digest and helped with digestion a lot, too. I love how Koreans make their food good for the body and soul.
After walking around Bukchon Hanok Village for a few hours, we found a cute little “healthy Korean tea shop” called, “오가다 삼청점”. On their menu they had a lot of teas, juices, smoothies, and “slush” to choose from. I was pretty hot and (ew) sweaty after walking around for so long, I decided on their Persimmon slush.
It tasted sweet and also had a strong cinnamon flavour. They served our drinks with small traditional Korean cookies and jujube chips. I would come back to this cute little cafe!
