Two years ago, in July 2009, my sweetheart and I made the best sandwiches ever imagined. You can find fresh ciabatta bread at Le Pain Quotidien, a jar of organic grilled vegetables (zucchini and tomatoes) you can find at the natural organic grocery, a bag of fresh rockets or wild arugula, vegan fake salami meat, seasoned herb tahini sauce and some vegan Cheezly cheddar slices.
It was the perfect sandwich ever in Belgium. I sadly don’t remember the vegan meat brand, but it tasted so good. I wish I can remember everything, but it was photographed two years and one month ago.

You can finish off with some nice Belgian-style fruit beer such as cherry kriek.

Or some nice rose in Antwerpen.

There are loads of options you can eat in Antwerpen, Belgium. There are lots of natural and organic stores within walking distance, where you can pick up some seitan-contained pastries, fresh organic strawberries, plenty of vegan meat and cheese and of course, the tasty French bread by Le Pain Quotidien. I believe eating at home is a lot better than eating out because there are so many vegan products you can find at the groceries, and use to make fabulous sandwiches and even snacks.

It was in July 2009, about two years ago in Antwerp(en), Belgium, commonly known as the fashion jewel of the EU. My sweetheart and I spent the whole month in Belgium. I tried Lombardia twice, one with a Swedish friend and the other one with my sweetheart and his mother. My Swedish friend loved it since she’s really into raw and health food.
Lombardia is a vegetarian and natural organic cafe in the little square of Antwerp(en) with an outdoor seating. The dishes are full of colours plus fresh-looking ingredients such as grilled vegetables, organic tofu or tempeh and various sprouts and nuts. Their dishes are pretty large in portion sizes. I really like their vegan whipped cream on cappuccino, which was the hit. We had two sandwiches and one huge salad, which I don’t recall the names. You can check out their updated menu.
Those were taken in July 2009, again, two years ago. I wish I am back to Antwerp(en) or Belgium to take nicer photos of them with my Canon, and I wasn’t a Photographer at that time. Can’t you imagine how photos look from two years ago when the digital camera technology advances?
