My mother used to make morning raw juices (broccoli, celery and apple and plenty of strange vegetables) when I was in my late teens. She made sure I drank two tall glasses of these every single morning, or it is considered impolite not to finish them. I hated every single drink because I preferred my wholesome veggies, I felt like I was drinking my own digestion.
As I hit my 20′s and became a vegan myself, I realized there are health benefits behind raw juicing, plus cleansing and detoxifying. It is difficult to understand raw juicing at a young age, but I understood why my mother made these raw juices every morning: to make me healthy and a better person.
• 2 small apples, chopped in four parts
• 8-10 broccoli stalks
• 1 celery, largely diced
• one mint
• 1/3 cup iced water
1. Chop all veggies in medium chunks.
2. Add veggies to blender and 1/3 cup water. Blend. I like mine a bit juicy.
