I was a bit miserable in Vienna, Austria from ending June to September, except for the Austrian vegan pastries that literally blew me away. When my days were nearly done in Vienna, I was looking forward to eating vegan products in the U.S. I couldn’t wait to bite my usual guilty pleasure: the vegan sandwich. It is a sandwich that I don’t eat everyday in the U.S, it’s a sandwich that you know that you will eat after a long period of time. It is sort of a love relationship with vegan cuisine you know best at, knowing that after a long period of time, you so need it in a desperate way.
This was photographed the day after I came back from Austria/Germany in September. I was so happy to make this vegan sandwich.
Wheat nutty bread (any of your favourite kinds)
Daiya cheddar style cheese
Some good hash-brown with salt and pepper
Tofurky Hickory Smoked Slices
Yves Meatless Breakfast Patties (love them)
