Go Max Go Foods candy bars are available from retailers, you can view here. They also can be found online via Food Fight! Grocery and Vegan Essentials.

my verdict

I reviewed all seven bars: Thumbs Up, Cleo’s, Snap!, Jokerz, Mahalo, Buccaneer, and Twilight. Please note, all bars contain peanuts and soy. They are not suitable for consumption by persons with an allergy to milk, nuts, or eggs. They are manufactured in a facility that produces products containing dairy, eggs, wheat, peanuts, and other tree nuts, therefore trace amounts of these ingredients may be present.

Thumbs Up Bar

Thumbs Up

This is the newest product from Go Max Go Foods, Thumbs Up, which is a crunchy, peanut buttery center in a rice-milk chocolatey coating. It is vegan and gluten-free. After my first bite, it is like a walk through time to the neighborhood candy shop of my childhood where Chick-O-Stick exist. Thumbs Up looked like a rice-milk chocolate covered Chick-O-Stick. The interior was yummy to devour with a bit of saltiness and sweetness to it. This is my favorite bar so far. One of the ingredients was dry-roasted peanuts, which provided a nice crunchiness. Amazing nostalgic candy bar ever. I would eat thousands of them in a year.

Ingredients (Gluten-Free and Vegan)
Cane sugar, corn syrup, peanuts (dry roasted), organic unrefined cane sugar, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder (natural), rice powder (rice syrup solids, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), salt, soybean lecithin, corn starch, natural color, natural flavor, tocopherol (vitamin e)

Cleo's

Cleo’s

It is both gluten-free and vegan. Cleo’s tastes somewhat like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. The vegan version is creamier. The peanut butter filling is creamy with bit of saltiness and sweetness to it. It would be fun to see cups (paper sleeves) on Cleo’s like the Reese’s cups.

Ingredients (Gluten-Free and Vegan)
Peanuts (dry roasted) unrefined cane sugar, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder (natural), rice powder (rice syrup solids, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), soybean lecithin, salt

Snap! Bar

Snap!

It is both gluten-free and vegan. The name Snap! is pretty neat. Snap! reminded me of a veganized version of Nestlé crunch bar. I would love if Snap! contains more crisped rice to provide more crunchiness since you taste more of the rice milk chocolate bar.

Ingredients (Gluten-Free and Vegan)
Unrefined cane sugar, palm kernel oil, whole grain brown rice, cocoa powder (natural), rice powder (rice syrup solids, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), soybean lecithin, salt

Jokerz

This is your perfect nostalgic “Snickers” bar. I used to love Snickers before I became a vegan. The layers are very noticeable: gooey caramel, dry-roasted peanuts and a light-colored peanut nougat. What a tasty vegan dream bar! It is definitely a slice of heaven! The rice milk chocolatey coating tasted very good!

Ingredients (Vegan)
Corn syrup, peanuts (dry roasted), beet sugar, evaporated cane juice, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder (natural), palm oil, rice powder (rice syrup powder, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), soy protein concentrate, dextrose, natural flavors, malt powder (extract of barley malt and corn), soybean lecithin, salt, carrageenan, enzyme modified soy protein

Mahalo Bar

Mahalo

This is probably the most attractive packaging of all the bars I tried. Mahalo reminds me of a veganised Almond Joy & Mounds. You can see the almonds covered in rice-milk chocolate on the top. I could taste the sweet desiccated coconut filling and the crunchy whole almonds. It would be interesting to see a creamy caramel or something along like a caramel-mahalo candy bar.

Ingredients (Gluten-Free and Vegan)
Dessicated coconut, evaporated cane juice, rice syrup, palm kernel oil, agave syrup, beet sugar, almonds (dry roasted), cocoa powder (natural), rice powder (rice syrup solids, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), palm oil, natural flavors, soybean lecithin, enzyme modified soy protein, salt.

Buccaneer Bar

Buccaneer

Pardon my unattractive nail polish and messy bite. The Buccaneer contains chocolate nougat. This is similar to Twilight Bar, without the creamy caramel. This is your almost veganized “3 Musketeers®” bar. The chocolate nought is creamy and imagine having a creamy nougat ice cream in your mouth. The exterior (rice-milk chocolate) coating is very soft at room temperature, not too thick nor heavy, just about right for a decent chocolate bar.

Ingredients (Vegan)
Beet sugar, corn syrup, evaporated cane juice, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder (natural and alkalized), rice powder (rice syrup powder, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), palm oil, malt powder (extract of barley malt and corn), enzyme modified soy protein, salt, natural flavors, soybean lecithin

Twilight Bar

Twilight

Twilight is a caramel and chocolate nougat bar covered in rice-milk chocolatey coating. You could taste the creamy caramel and the chocolate nougat altogether. I love Go Max Go Foods’ caramel. This is a perfect junk food snack bar for me where it contains no artificial ingredients nor trans fats.

Ingredients (Vegan)
Corn syrup, beet sugar, evaporated cane juice, palm kernel oil, palm oil, cocoa powder (natural and alkalized), rice powder (rice syrup powder, rice starch, rice flour, carrageenan), soy protein concentrate, dextrose, natural flavors, soybean lecithin, salt, malt powder (extract of barley malt and corn), enzyme modified soy protein, carrageenan
