Doni’s sister brought this amazing extra-virgin olive oil from her honeymoon trip in Crete and it was one of my favourite olive oils from now on. You cannot find these anywhere outside of Crete, Greece, but only in the region of Kounavi (Κουνάβοι), Heraklion (Ηράκλειο), Crete (Κρήτης) Greece at Winery Stilianou. For some reason, there was no olive oil product on their website, so I guess that makes that exclusive.

★ PRODUCT NAME: Huile D’Olive De Crete, from Winery Stilianou
★ VERDICT: This Crete extra virgin olive oil is made exclusively from Winery Stilianou, that makes dry wines from the traditional Crete grapes. The transparent golden-green coloured olive oil surprised my palate with a mildly spicy and bitter flavour with fruity tones to any Mediterranean dishes and oven-baked bread. You could taste it alone without any balsamic vinegar, but with a pinch of sea salt because this olive oil already has a rich, fruity taste. I love the fruity and spicy combination from this olive oil. As a side note, the fruity tone is more like banana peel. This has given me a reason to visit Crete and their beautiful olive oils.
