Product Review: Hilary’s Eat Well™

Hilary's Eat Well™

In July 2012, we discovered these newest vegan-friendly, but also gluten-free, soy-free, and nut-free (and common-allergen-free) veggie burger products, known as Hilary’s Eat Well™ at a local naturals grocery in Oregon. The only issue was having no vegan labels on the front of the biodegradable packaging, but the ingredients are GMO-free and vegan-friendly. So these veggie burger products are for everyone, not just vegans, however for anyone “who want to live healthy and sustainable lives while eating food that is easy to prepare and that tastes great” (Hilary’s Eat Well, Our Company)

Hilary’s Eat Well™ offers two different veggie burgers: The World’s Best Veggie Burger and Adzuki Bean Burger.

These veggie burgers can be found anywhere in the U.S., at a local grocery, natural food store or even your favourite restaurant, view here to find your burgers.

My Verdict for Hilary’s Eat Well:
The World’s Best Veggie Burger

Hilary's Eat Well™

Hilary's Eat Well™Hilary’s Eat Well’s The World’s Best Veggie Burger became our favourite vegan burger patty in our everyday kitchen. An omnivore enjoyed it as well regardless of being just vegan, soy-free and gluten-free. It tastes savoury, filling, healthy and delicious as it is free of all common food allergens and artificial ingredients. The burger was not as mushy as some vegetable patties tend to be. There are visible millet and quinoa that provide texture. It has more flavour than Adzuki Bean Burger as a garden burger. I defrosted the burger for about half an hour due to ice on the burger, prepared these burgers on a griddle, sprayed some oil, and heated 4-5 minutes each side. You can eat the burger alone without anything since it already has flavour while the Adzuki Bean Burger may require more toppings due to a bit of flavour.

★ TIP:
The best way to prepare the burgers is straight from the freezer into a standard toaster (1-2 cycles). Other good ways are in a skillet, griddle, grill, or oven. Microwave is not recommended.
★ INGREDIENTS: Water, Millet, Quinoa, Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil, Spinach, Onion, Garlic, Psyllium Husk Powder, Arrowroot, Sweet Potato, Real Salt, Apple Cider Vinegar and Sunflower Seed Oil

My Verdict for Hilary’s Eat Well:
Adzuki Bean Burger

Hilary's Eat Well™

Hilary's Eat Well™Hilary’s Eat Well’s Adzuki Bean Burger is a bit similar to The World’s Best Veggie Burger’s texture, but there are different ingredients in the burger: adzuki beans, mild green chilies, chili & chipotle powder and lime juice. These listed ingredients presented a bit of Mexican bean burger flavour, but it wasn’t very spicy actually. The burger has a pinkish look due to the Adzuki beans, and it is very unique to have a vegan and gluten-free burger made of Adzuki beans. Above all, all Hilary’s Eat Well burgers are gluten-free, corn-free, soy-free, gmo-free, dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free and yeast-free. I would recommend adding more savoury toppings to the burger to make it more flavourful.
