★ ABOUT: In January 2011, Veggie-Go’s snacks was started by a couple, John and Lisa McHugh (also known as The Naked Edge) in Boulder, Colorado. The couple wanted to create healthy and wholesome “food” that makes up the majority of American diets. As of Summer 2012, The Naked Edge comes in five flavours: Mountain Berry Spinach, Sweet Potato Pie, Mulled Wine, Carrot Ginger and Cinnamon Spiced Beet. “We at The Naked Edge believe that you should know (and be able to pronounce) exactly what you are putting into the high performance machine you call your body! That’s why we use only whole-food ingredients, the same ingredients that you would use at home! We are so confident in our ingredients that we put all of them right on the front of the package! What you see and taste is what you get!” (The Naked Edge Products, August 2012).

At 14 calories per serving, Mountain Berry Spinach Veggie-Go’s™ appears as a very dark reddish colour. It reminded me of a fruit version of a chewy jerky. I would break it into smaller pieces before eating the whole piece. It’s lovely to have wholesome and natural ingredients without the need for over-processed ingredients. They are not sticky as some fruit strips are, which saves me the trouble from washing my hands during flight. The top has texture while the bottom is smooth. It’s great for a quick travel snack for anyone. The ingredients contain all berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. You can’t taste the spinach very well, but it brings out a great tangy-tart flavor from the berries and apples. There is a source of Vitamin A from the sweet potatoes and antioxidant power from the berries according to The Naked Edge.
★ INGREDIENTS: Organic Apples, Organic Spinach, Organic Strawberries, Organic Blueberries, Organic Raspberries and Organic Sweet Potatoes

At 18 calories per serving, Sweet Potato Pie Veggie-Go’s™ appears as a bright orange colour with crushed pecans on the top. The flavour is pretty unique and accurate. I could taste a sweet potato pie with crushed pecans, cinnamon and all of these holiday spices that go together. This is a must have for a holiday snack or for ones who love sweet potato pies! The fresh sweet potatoes, cinnamon and ginger are the secrets to this “delish” pie, but as a fruit and veggie snack made by The Naked Edge. This vegan, soy-free and gluten-free Sweet Potato Pie Veggie-Go’s™ contains a whopping 50% of your daily Vitamin A. I love snacks that aren’t messy!
★ INGREDIENTS: Organic Sweet Potatoes, Organic Apples, Organic Pecans, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Ginger, Organic Nutmeg and Organic Cloves
At 18 calories per serving, Mulled Wine Veggie-Go’s™ has a burnt-red-orange colour, which is hard to tell if it’s red or orange through the light (as pictured to the left). While it contains red wine, the ingredient is safe and yummy for kids since alcohol is cooked out. I could smell the tartness and sweetness from the apples, not so much from the sweet potatoes or cinnamon. For me, it tasted more like apples, but in rich red colour. “They’ve combined the Antioxidant power of red wine and Vitamins in sweet potatoes and apples into one fantastically satisfying treat!” (The Naked Edge, August 2012).
★ INGREDIENTS: Organic Apples, Organic Sweet Potatoes, Red Wine (These are kid safe as all of the alcohol is cooked out), Organic Cinnamon, and Organic Cloves

At 15 calories per serving and containing 50% of your daily Vitamin A, Carrot Ginger Veggie-Go’s™ has a beautiful bright orange colour with only three major ingredients: carrots, apples and ginger. I could smell the strong ginger right away and it already brought a wonderful zing to this treat. I could see the fibers from the carrots. I felt like I wanted to make a ginger-carrot smoothie or soup right away. It’s a comfortable, warm treat for anyone who wish to alleviate motion sickness, nausea, morning sickness and general stomach upset. This flavour has a sharp yet subtle flavour with a tangy freshness, light spiciness with a slightly sweet and refreshing taste.
★ INGREDIENTS: Organic Carrots, Organic Apples and Organic Ginger

At 14 calories per serving and containing minerals in the beets, Vitamin A in the sweet potatoes and Omega-3′s in the flax seeds Cinnamon Spiced Beet Veggie-Go’s™ has a beautiful dark red colour with flax seeds on the top. I could smell the cinnamon, but not so much from the beets. The flax seeds provide a bit of crunchy texture. I think the apple ingredient overpowers the beet ingredient. I don’t mind the apple flavour since it is one of the primary ingredients in Veggie-Go’s snacks.
★ INGREDIENTS: Organic Beets, Organic Apples, Organic Sweet Potatoes, Organic Flax Seeds and Organic Cinnamon
