Hunger remains one of the leading child killers in the world and it is a massive global problem. “Over 200 million children go to bed hungry every night. Each year, nearly 1 million children die from severe acute malnutrition alone.” (Two Degrees Does Good Report, January 2012)
Two Degrees is not just one food-and-snack bar company in the market, but it is also a vegan, all-natural and gluten-free food company that makes a difference by feeding children and helping the world’s 200 million malnourished children directly in the hands of the consumer.
Two Degrees has a pledge:
1 bar sold = 1 meal donated to a hungry child in the developing world
Two Degrees partners with non-profit organisations such as Partners in Health and the World Food Program USA to donate meals to treat the children they reach. So far, they have made over 400,000 sales for 2012.
These vegan and gluten-free Two Degrees bars are available in four flavours: Cherry Almond, Apple Pecan, Chocolate Peanut and nut-free Chocolate Banana. Every purchase will be donated to a meal to a child in Malawi, Somalia, India or Haiti. They are made from millet, chia and quinoa.
You can purchase the nine-bar pack (multi-flavour or single flavour) through their website. These bars are available at Whole Foods Markets nationally throughout the country and online.

Chocolate Banana is my personal favourite flavour. I could taste the fresh bananas, vegan bittersweet chocolate chips, crisped rice and ground sunflower seeds along with chia seeds, millet and quinoa flake. It is like a chocolate and banana fusion with softly crunchy chia seeds texture. It was very easy to chew. What a beautiful guilt-free vegan and gluten-free snack bar! I enjoyed it loads!
★ INGREDIENTS: Brown rice syrup, Vegan chocolate chips (Sugar, Chocolate liquor, Cocoa butter, Soy lecithin (an emulsifier), Vanilla), Sunflower butter (Sunflower seeds), Unsulphured bananas, Crisp rice with cocoa (Rice flour, Sugar, Cocoa powder processed with alkali, Salt), Sesame seeds, Millet, Chia, Quinoa flake, Natural flavor, Vitamin E from sunflower seeds (to preserve freshness).
Chocolate Peanut has the similar texture as the Chocolate Banana, but with crunchy peanuts and peanut butter. I like crushed peanuts over whole peanuts. This flavour is another personal favourite. So easy to chew, not too sticky or hard. What a lovely combination of flavours with the crunchy grains. I would recommend it for any chocolate and peanut butter foodies.

Apple Pecan resembles a delectable mini chewy apple fritter, lightly spiced with cinnamon and dried apples. I could taste the sunflower seeds and pecans very well. I could not taste the figs or dried plums very well, but after all it describes the flavour well: apple and pecan. Note it is a bit sticky to eat it, than the other two chocolate flavours as written above. It is easily chewable, but more crunchy than the other two chocolate flavours because of a strong nutty texture. This is great for any nuts and dried fruits foodies.

Cherry Almond contains dried tart cherries, crunchy almonds, almond butter, dried plums, plum butter and sunflower seeds. Not a personal favourite since I am not a massive fan of almonds or dried cherries, but I would recommend it for fruits and nuts foodies. Besides, all Two Degree bars are low-calorie, gluten-free, GMO-free and vegan.
