With our recent travels, visits to Oregon have seemed few and far between. So when we do eventually make it home and discover a new collection of seasonally inspired vegan nail polishes from LVX, it’s always a pleasant surprise.
LVX is a Chicago based cruelty-free and vegan nail polish brand that has been producing stunning seasonal collections for over three years now. They have more than 80 colors in their range and a growing line of treatment products. Since our last review they have released a 3-in-1 Treatment, Base Coat, Gel Like Top Coat and a Green Tea Nail Oil.
We are featuring the Summer 2015 and Fall 2015 collections from LVX. With six colors in each collection, there’s a little something for everyone. In addition to a brief review, I am also giving away the entire Fall 2015 collection (all six colors!) to one US based Vegan Miam reader!
And if you have a moment, take a look at their Indiegogo campaign as they seek to further expand their range of vegan, cruelty-free and 5-free products with the introduction of the LVX Natural Nail Color Remover. They are looking to produce a cruelty-free, vegan, non-toxic and non-drying solution to the harsh and toxic acetone formulas on the market today using a unique blend of ingredients intended to nourish and strengthen your nails and cuticles.
LVX Vegan Nail Lacquer
We photographed this exciting collection in the vibrant Penang, Malaysia. I love the combination of bright, warm colors with pastels in this collection. All of the polishes from the Summer 2015 collection have a high-gloss finish and required at least two coats for full coverage.
Depending on how thick and rich you want the colors to appear I may even recommend a third coat for some, like the significantly thinner Avenal and Caicos. Avenal is a creamy pastel mint color that’s perfect for someone who loves a more muted pop of color. Caicos is a lovely blue-green pastel (think a creamier version of the Spring 2015 Turkoise). The reddish-hued orange Damask was my personal favorite from this collection and looked beautiful with our Watermelon Agua Fresca. Also in the Summer 2015 collection are the powdery blue Paraiso, boldly purple Currant and creamier purple Shiraz.

The Fall 2015 collection has distinctly earthier tones than the previous two (Spring 2015 and Summer 2015) collections. This serene collection is reminiscent of the beauty of nature. We photographed the collection in Springfield, Oregon and you might even spot the Simpsons mural in the background.
With the exception of Nu and Rhone, which required three coats due to their sheer nude appearance, the Fall 2015 colors are slightly thicker and can achieve full coverage with two coats. Nu is well and truly a nude tone that blended into my skin to the degree that I forgot I had polish on after a day. Rhone is a nude polish with a pinkish hue to it. For a seasonal color, I really loved the terra cotta tones of Sienna. Militaire is a unique greenish hued grey that’s eye-catching in a reserved manner. The collection also includes two metallic colors. The matte copper Monarch and bold, vibrant turquoise Narcissist round out the Fall 2015 collection. The chromatic blue-ish green colors of Narcissist shift in the light and darken over time.
