The Green Corner Grocery in Condesa was probably one of the nicest local markets we visited in Mexico City, but it wasn’t the most convenient location for where we were staying. Since we visited in April and the afternoons could get uncomfortably warm, it was always better to walk here in the mornings when we wanted some specialty groceries. The Green Corner Grocery has 4 stores (location: Coyoacán, Condesa, Polanco, Cuajimalpa) and 2 restaurants (location: Coyoacán and Condesa) in Mexico City. However, the Condesa location was the nearest to our apartment.
The Green Corner Grocery is a small and unique little shop with a great variety of local vegan-friendly products. We especially enjoyed their selection of tortillas, tamales, salsas and tofu; all available at surprisingly reasonable prices. The shop also has an interesting selection of bottled juices and smoothies. I bought blue corn tortillas, mushroom-herb tamales and bean tamales as well as the Plantain-Orange smoothie! We look forward to trying more of the vegan products available at Green Corner, including the chocolate tamales.
I apologize for the photos. We were, perhaps, a bit more focused on purchasing and devouring all the foods we had just found.
