Two years ago we had one of the most remarkable, enlightening and enjoyable experiences when we traveled to Thailand for the Phuket Vegetarian Festival.
During the 10-day Phuket Vegetarian Festival, vegan food is a primary component of the rituals and traditions of this holy celebration. Across the island kitchens are prepped and menus are transformed to go vegan. Red and yellow flags adorn restaurants and stalls offering ‘Jay’/เจ food, loosely translated – strict vegetarian or vegan. People who otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to these delicacies are devouring seitan, tofu, bean curd and vegan versions of popular non-vegan dishes.
We can say from experience that this is the best opportunity to visit Phuket if you are vegan. During the Phuket Vegetarian Festival you’ll think the island has rolled out the red carpet just for you!
To have that red carpet extended even further though, Paresa Resort Phuket is offering their amazing Vegetarian Street Food Festival package.
If you’re unable to make it to Phuket for the annual Vegetarian Festival, don’t worry because the Paresa Resort Phuket will roll out the red carpet for vegans anytime of year! With a kitchen ready to prepare vegan Thai and Italian food for guests year-round, it’s a stress-free luxury vegan getaway. So the next time your travels take you to Southeast Asia, consider heading to Paresa Resort Phuket and allow Executive Chef Luca Mancini and his team to look after your vegetarian or vegan needs.
This September we will return to Phuket as guests of Paresa Resort and we can’t wait for the opportunity to experience the Vegetarian Street Food Festival package first hand. Look for our upcoming interview with Paresa Resort Executive Chef Luca Mancini along with our live updates from the resort during our two night stay, September 24th-26th.
